Services at DDRC
The following Services are offered at DDRC
- Early Identification and Early Intervention
- Supportive services to promote education, vocational training and employment for persons with disabilities

Special Education
Special Education is the process by which students with special needs receive education via the process of addressing their difficulties while integrating them as much as possible in the typical Educational environments of their peers
Special Education aims to provide and accommodate education for Persons with Disabled students such as learning disabilities, Autism, Spectrum Disorders, Cognitive impairments, Speech-language impairments
Psychological Counselling

Physiotherapy
- Helps pain management, falls management and prevention, mobility, rehabilitation
- Problems:
- Pain in the joints, waist, neck, heels and feet.
- Physical problems in old age.
- Physiotherapy, Arthritis, muscle pain
- Pain from sprains, injuries while playing/running and after accidents
- Rupture of the ligament, prosthesis, curvature of the face, paralysis due to non-functioning of the body part
- Weight gain, muscle looseness in women after pregnancy and delivery
- The pain of a frozen shoulder.
Prosthetics and Orthotics
An orthopedic implant is a medical device manufactured to replace a missing joint or bone or to support a damaged bone.
The medical implant is mainly fabricated using stainless steel and titanium alloys for strength and the plastic coating that is done on it acts as an artificial cartilage.
Internal fixation is an operation in orthopedics that involves the surgical implementation of implants for the purpose of repairing a bone.
During the surgery of broken bones through internal fixation the bone fragments are first reduced into their normal alignment then they are held together with the help of internal fixators such as plates, screws, nails, pins and wires.
Audiology
- Identify, test, diagnose and manage disorders of human hearing, balance, and tinnitus; interpret test results of behavioral and objective measures.
- Counsel patients about hearing and the possible need for treatment/management
- Assess the candidacy of persons with hearing loss for hearing aids and cochlear implants and provide fitting, programming, and audiologic rehabilitation to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Supervise and conduct newborn hearing, screening programs
- Execute and manage children and adults with central auditory processing
Vocational Counselling
Vocational Counseling is to assist and empower individuals with various disabilities to achieve their career goals in most integrated settings
Other Rehabilitation Services
- Assistance in obtaining Disability Certificate / UDID
- Assistance in getting benefits in various schemes run by the government for the disabled.
- Assistance in taking loans for vocational training and self-employment.
Process for making Disability Certificate / UDID Cards
- Disability certificates are issued by the medical board constituted at the district level.
- Interested persons have to apply at Lokmitra Center before appearing before the Medical Board. You need your photo, Aadhar card, and signature online.
- After obtaining a copy of the registration at Meeseva Kendra, the disability assessment has to be done by presenting it in front of the Medical Board at the District Hospital on the prescribed date.
- After the disability assessment, the UDID card is issued by the board.
